Im sorry Ive been so elusive lately. But I have a good reason! I just opened my online shop and I’ve been sewing at least eight hours a day, trying to make stuff you guys might want. I ordered loads of spacey fabric and other fun stuff, I even got one that glows in the dark. Plus all kinds of metallic thread and… And I’m working on drafting a dress pattern that’s going to rock your socks. Okay? I’m still here. I promise.

Haha yeah, it’s a San Francisco thing, especially among bartenders and other service industry people. (i didnt like it at first, but… Resistance is futile it seems.) Actually, the last bar where I worked, we sold the 3rd most Fernet in the world. (read: drank the most) The count even came from Italy and signed a bottle. I always got a bunch of fernet schwag when they did promos. Like the posters. :)

okay, here it is. My apartment. From top left: Livingroom/couch/cat, sewing table, bedroom, front door/hallway, my insane closet, my bookshelf and lava lamp, my easel and art supplies, the bathroom!!!, the kitchen!, the place i am now: the computer!

i know, it’s… a lot of junk. This is literally the first time in my life I have ever owned more than what would fit in a big suitcase, so I collect junk.

i just took pictures of my apartment for you! please stand by.

well… i live in an apartment so there are multiple rooms. let’s see what i can do.

This is a really dumb picture, i should try to do better, but it’s where i sleep, it is “my room” more or less. There are loads of pink lights that illuminate that hangy fabric at night.

aadamsupreme said: woah. your clothes you've designed are amazing! how do you go about designing? I want to start doing it as well , I just have no idea how lol

Hi! Thank you, it’s so nice people are liking my little sewing projects so much! I can’t give you any super definitive “how to” about designing, because I’m just figuring it out still, and it’s been lots (I mean LOTS) of trial and error. The thing that has helped me most is to read lots of sewing blogs, learn all the different stitches and tricks of the trade I can. Read tutorials. Learn the lingo, so when they say “selvages” or “bias” or “seam allowance” you’re not like “LOLWUT?” Start with basics, make sure you can make basic pants, pockets, zippers, buttons, hems, skirts, etc. Then you’ll start getting bursts of inspiration about how to adapt those things and embellish them. Arm yourself with all the tools by knowing basics, and use those tools to create new things. Experiment. Go to the thrift store and find garments with interesting shapes or stitches, or find stuff you like the design of, and take them home and carefully dismantle them, learning how they were constructed and the basic pattern shapes. I’m sure taking a couple classes at a community college or something might help, but I haven’t don’t that so I don’t know. Don’t give up when stuff comes out looking terrible. It took me a long time to get to where I could make anything at all worth wearing. I still ruin a lot of fabric. Last tip: a decent sewing machine, and maybe even a serger. ( I LOVE MY SERGER) If your sewing machine is wonky, even the best design can turn out crappy. Having said that, I used a wonky old portable one for years, it skipped stitches and caught fabric in the bobbin casing and all kinds of stuff but it was better than nothing. And when I say get something decent, I don’t mean fancy. Just… Have patience. Press your seams. That’s the best advice I can give you. :)

Thank you! I’m so excited so many people like it! :3

they are discontinuing that space fabric.

three yards of space fabric, fifteen feet of ruffles, three spools of metallic thread (gold and silver for the edges of the ruffles!) and eight hours later, i have this. i designed it special for a friend!

… seriously the metallic edges of the ruffles are the best part.

What I want to know is, if they preserved the Golden Gate Bridge, what about the TransAm Pyramid?

i would think so, and i bet they wouldn’t need to do much to preserve it. here comes the geology geek: the transamerica pyramid is actually designed that way (like a pyramid) based around previous measured resonance frequencies of earthquakes in the area, specifically to withstand the most intense quakes by minimizing the resonance waves, which are one of the main things that bring down buildings during quakes!
